FAQS

The Direct Primary Care (DPC) model is a practice and payment model in which patients/consumers pay their physician or practice directly in the form of periodic payments for a defined set of primary care services. DPC practices typically charge patients a flat monthly and/or annual fee, under terms of a contract, in exchange for access to a broad range of primary care and medical administrative services. The DPC practice framework includes any practice model structured around direct contracting with patients/consumers for monthly and/or annual fees which serve to replace the traditional system of third party insurance coverage for primary care services. These periodic payments provide patients enhanced services including real time access via advanced communication technology to their personal physician, extended visits, in some cases home-based medical visits, and highly personalized, coordinated, and comprehensive care administration.

Internists provide care for adults. If you are 18 years or older, this falls into our specialty. We do not offer services for pediatric patients—i.e., patients under 18 years old.
We request that female patients requiring OB/GYN services establish care with a board-certified OB/GYN in the area.

The length of your appointment depends on the type of service requested. We offer a variety of appointment types for general Internal Medicine— annual physical exams, acute visits, and/or after-hours visits. Acute visit durations will vary. Additional appointments for cosmetic treatments will vary depending on the type and extent of service requested. Most appointments will be 45 to 60 minutes.

Nothing—you do not have to worry about any medically-related equipment for your visit. We come prepared with any necessary equipment to provide you with the most thorough care.
We have access to commonly prescribed medications in the healthcare field and will be able to dispense prescriptions to you immediately. This eliminates the need to travel to the pharmacy to pick up your prescription, adding an extra layer of convenience to your visit.
If you are evaluated, and it is felt that you need to go to the Emergency Department, our team will make arrangements.
We love animals. Please feel free to have your animals present during your visit/consultation. Remember that we may need to ask your furry friends to step out when getting ready to perform an actual procedure.
OMM is a skillset held only by osteopathic physicians. Osteopathic physicians undergo 2 years of in-class training in OMM in medical school. OMM uses a large variety of techniques to manipulate the musculoskeletal system to achieve appropriate alignment and to relieve acute and chronic musculoskeletal pain. OMM differs from chiropractic medicine because it is localized to small areas, limiting the potential for injury.
